Cookies & Local Storage
How this website stores information on your device.
Current Academy website
The current Academy website does not intentionally use advertising or behavioural-marketing cookies.
It does, however, use your browser's local storage to remember information such as course progress, journal entries, essays, tutorial history, saved jobs, saved volunteering opportunities and application-tracker information on the device you are using.
Why local storage is used
This storage enables learner features to remember your choices between visits. Some learner preferences and careers information may remain in that browser rather than being stored in the Academy learner database. Clearing browser data, changing device or using another browser may therefore remove or make that locally stored information unavailable.
Essential and non-essential technologies
Technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user may be used without a separate consent choice where the law permits. If the Academy later introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or similar tracking technologies that require consent, they will not be activated until an appropriate consent mechanism has been provided.
Future learner accounts
The Academy uses an essential secure session cookie to keep learners signed in and protect accounts. This cookie is necessary for account and course-access functions and is not used for advertising.
Managing browser storage
You can remove cookies and local-storage information through your browser settings. Doing so may reset saved Academy progress or preferences stored only on that device.
